This awarded Cabernet Sauvignon belongs to the Mancura range, which played a significant role in the latest version of the respected Descorchados Wine Guide, edited by the well-known journalist Patricio Tapia. The 2018 vintage of Mito was granted 92 points and stood out as REVELATION WINE and SUPER VALUE CABERNET SAUVIGNON.
The grapes for this wine come from our El Puntal estate, located in Isla de Maipo, in the Entre Cordilleras area of the Maipo Valley. The vineyard is planted on one of the alluvial terraces that run along the north bank of the Maipo River. Its soil shows different textures along the ground profile, where layers of sandy composition and abundant stones alternate with strata of sandy loam texture without stones. The river bed allows fresh winds to blow in from the mountains and the sea, exerting a moderating influence that cools down the nights and creates a wide thermal amplitude. These conditions are ideal for producing Cabernet Sauvignon with good concentration and delicious acidity.
Mancura Mito Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is a wine made 100% with this variety. It has a good density, juiciness, and long, chewy tannins, in addition to red and black fruits, like raspberries and plums, with a spicy touch of black and white pepper and a nuance of hazelnuts. Well-volumed on the palate, it offers a long ending that turns richer with notes of tobacco leaves.
