VIÑA MORANDÉ: THE SOUTH AMERICA’S MOST AWARD-WINNING WINERY IN THE 2023 DECANTER WORLD WINE AWARDS

With 97 points and a Platinum Medal for the 2021 Morandé Black Series Pinot Noir, Viña Morandé has become South America’s most award-winning winery of the 2023 Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA).

The Decanter World Wine Awards, the world’s largest wine competition, heaped extraordinary praise on Viña Morandé this year. The competition, now in its 20th version, evaluated more than 18,500 wines from around the world, and Chile received 2 of its coveted Platinum Awards—the competition’s highest medal—one of which went to our own 2021 Black Series Pinot Noir, which received one of the highest scores in the lineup.

Chile received just 10 Gold Medals, among which are our 2021 Morandé Vitis Única Sauvignon Blanc and 2022 Morandé Selección de Viñedos Sauvignon Blanc.

The Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) is the world’s largest wine competition as well as the most influential and global in scope. Its expert panel of judges includes 70 Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers and important figures such as Peter Richards MW, Amanda Barnes, Alistair Cooper MW, and Eduardo Milán, among others. Who evaluated more than 18,500 wines from 54 countries around the world.

As a result of this prestigious competition, Viña Morandé has become the most award-winning South American winery in 2023, which sets an important precedent for the industry in the region. Ranking at the top of the list of wineries, Viña Morandé received 1 Platinum, 2 Gold, 6 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals.
