Guardián, Vuelo Mágico, and Mito were Mancura’s most celebrated lines at the national and international levels this year.

Mancura’s portfolio of wines ends 2021 with truly outstanding scores. The winery, whose name pays homage to the mythical character of the Andean condor, demonstrated its vast experience and knowledge in the production of New World wines this year with wines that are a faithful reflection of the different terroirs found throughout Chile.

The Vuelo Mágico line was spotlighted this year for its 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, with 92 points from the American critic James Suckling and 91 points from the British critic Tim Atkin.

The 2018 Andino, a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot from Chile’s most important wine valleys, was recognized with 93 points from the Chilean La CAV magazine, and its 2019 vintage received 91 points in the 2022 Descorchados wine guide.

Another of the brands that truly shone this year was Guardián, whose wines aim to pay tribute to Chile’s national heritage with exceptional quality and accessible prices. The 2018 Guardián Carignan received 91 points from James Suckling, who praised its aromas, silky texture, and fresh finish, and the 2019 Guardián Chardonnay earned 91 points and a Silver Medal in this year’s The Drinks Business Global Masters competition.

The 2019 Guardián País earned 92 points and a Silver Medal in the Decanter World Wine Awards. On the national scene, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon received 91 points from La CAV, and the 2020 Guardián Cinsault obtained 91 points and appeared on the list of Best-Buy Reds Under CLP 7,000 in the 2022 Descorchados wine guide.

And finally, the 2018 Mito Cabernet Sauvignon also stood out in Descorchados this year with 92 points as well as three special accolades: inclusion on the list of Best-Buy Reds Under CLP 7,000, Super Price Cabernet Sauvignon Under CLP 7,000, and the 2022 Revelation Award. At the international level, this Cabernet Sauvignon also earned a Gold Medal in the Women’s Wine & Spirits Awards and the 2021 Etnia Cabernet Sauvignon earned a Silver Medal in the same competition.
