In its second annual report on Chile, Wine & Spirits Magazine not only acknowledged the wines of Viña Morandé with excellent scores. It also highlighted, among others, the remarkable results of Terroir Wines del Maule, a new project of the winery, as well as a new wine by Vistamar.

Always focused on discovering and showcasing Chile’s great viticultural heritage, Morandé Wine Group has been engaged in adding important innovations to its traditional and already well-established wine lines. To this end, and to make these wines more accessible to a broader public, it recently increased its renowned Pionero range by incorporating a wine made with the País variety, whose 2020 version was recently awarded 92 points by W&S.

Positively received, that wine was the incentive for the consolidation and subsequent creation of a new range called Terroir Wines del Maule. This line reflects the winery’s pioneering experience in rescuing old winemaking practices but under a modern prism. Its aim is also to give new life to Aventuras, a range created in 1997 by Pablo Morandé, founder of our winery, which planted the first seed of heritage rescue in Chile.

We would also like to point out the ‘Best Buy’ recommendation in addition to the 93 points awarded by Wine & Spirits to our Cinsault-País 2019, a wine that is part of the Terroir Wines del Maule line. Its delicious juiciness is an invitation to drink more than just one glass.

The 93 points awarded to our Gran Reserva Chardonnay 2019 by W&S also please us very much. This is a wine of great originality due to the way it was made. Unlike most whites, this Chardonnay is fermented with the skins of the grapes, which gives it a remarkable body and great depth of flavors and aromas.

We would also like to mention our satisfaction with the 91 points awarded to our Estate Reserve Pinot Noir 2019. This wine comes from a single vineyard in Casablanca, the famous appellation developed by Morandé.

Last, but not least, we would like to point out the 90 points awarded to the Single Estate Pinot Noir 2019, a new line by Vistamar. This winery that was founded by Morandé Wine Group in 1997 with the idea of making cool-climate wines.
